Things That Made Me the Most Comfortable When I Was Pregnant and During Delivery! #Sponsored

When I was pregnant with each one of my three children, each pregnancy was different. So things that would work to make me comfortable during my first pregnancy, didn't work when I was pregnant with my second or third. When sleeping though, I usually slept surrounded by pillows. Did you know, I still do it! I can't seem to get rid of them. When I try to sleep without one of them, and I get uncomfortable, and I pull the pillows back into bed with me.

I really was super glad that I bought my own things to the hospital when I had my three children though! There is a list below of some things that I took with me to the hospital that helped me during the birth, and for the few days afterwords while I was there, alone, with my babies.

1) My own water bottle.
They brought this Big foam cup full of iced water and a straw when I had my last child. I made my husband bring me a water bottle from home. Even the foam cups at a local fast food restaurant were better quality then these ones. I was drinking in some foam when I was half way drinking the first cup, and it didn't taste very nice. That's when I decided that I wasn't going to drink any more water until I had my own water bottle from home.

2) Our Good Camera.
Don't use your cell phone to take photos unless it takes really great photos that you can print out in beautiful 4 by 6, or 8 by 10 photographs to share with others. I had some beautiful, quiet moments with my children, and I loved having my camera with me take some great photos of my babies.

3) My own pajamas and underwear.
Because it was really hard to nurse my first child, my son, with a hospital gown on. I didn't want to unsnap the front of it and sit there half naked in front of the hospital staff. Not to mention, I would get cold when I did that. I kept the hospital room comfortable, my husband kept getting too hot, so he kept making it cooler.

4) Lip balm.
I prefer the carmex brand in the round container. As the air in the hospital ward really dried out my lips. I also brought some organic lip balm to use during my pregnancy and at the hospital too!

5) My laptop.
It was great to do something other than watch TV all day long. I didn't get much sleep because someone was almost always in and out of my room every two to three hours. So when I wasn't sleeping, or nursing my babies, I was online, chatting with friends, playing games, or posting pictures!

7) Some New or Old DVD's.
Because it's better than watching normal TV 24/7. The TV's in the hospital aren't always that nice. And sometimes the volume controls on the beds, don't work very well, if at all.

8) Book and some magazines.
Sometimes, you might want to read.

9) My pillow from home and my favorite Tinkerbell throw blanket.
It was much more comfortable to sleep with them in the hospital bed. Having things from home helps your baby to know your smell, and helps keep you relaxed too!

10) Boppy nursing pillow.
I used it for all 3 of my children. It was easier than trying to use a pillow that the hospital has to nurse my children.

11) Clothes for my new babies.
There's nothing cuter than newborn baby clothing! That white little t-shirt and pink and blue baby hat, they are OK, but it's so much more fun to hear the comments from the nurses about your baby's cute and adorable clothing! Plus, they look adorable in photos!

AND

12) DulcoEase Pink!
It was much easier to bring my own stool softener, then it was to wait 6 to 8 hours before I was given one in the hospital. I took one about 5 hours after my last daughter was born, and I had no problems going at all! Within 12 hours, I went, and even the nurse was surprised! With my other two children, it took me almost 24 hours to go, and I was so uncomfortable and in so much pain because of it. So another mom friend suggested to me to take some DulcoEase Pink with me to the hospital! I had taken it a home a few times while I was pregnant. So why not take it to the hospital too! DulcoEase® Pink™ Stool Softener is a stimulant-free laxative which means it's ok for most anyone to take during pregnancy. As always though, ask your OB before taking any medications.

Every new mother’s toolkit should include DulcoEase® Pink™, the #1 OB/GYN recommended ingredient* for going #2. So if you are pregnant or breast feeding, ask your doctor if you should think Pink. Find savings on DulcoEase® Pink™ at www.MomsTalkDulcoEase.com!

Cascade Platinum is Phosphate Free and it's Safe for Septic Tanks! Which is awesome for us, because we have a nice piece of land, with a septic tank! Cascade Platinum:
  • Delivers Cascade’s best clean with a premium, advanced triple action formula that helps prevent residue on your dishes, and even filming on your machine.

  • Eliminates the need to pre-wash dishes.
  • Has the Grease Fighting Power of Dawn.
  •

My dishes came out cleaner and clearer than ever! We aren't presently using any glass glasses yet, as we have three young children in the house. So I don't have any photos to share with you. I did check out every dish that came out of the dish washer last night, and every single one of them was super clean! I didn't have to rewash any of them. Once in a while, we won't pre-rinse a dish before placing it in the dishwasher, and it will come out with stuck on food. None of the dishes came out with anything stuck on them! Sign up for Emails from Cascade, and receive a $.50 off coupon, which some grocery stores will double!!! Check out the New Cascade Platinum T.V. Commercial below!
