Day Out With Thomas: Leader of the Pack Tour 2011 Review!

Last weekend, we had a chance to go to the Nashville Train station for a "Day Out With Thomas: Leader of the Pack Tour!" I took both of my children with me, Matthew is almost four and Chloe is two! They had a blast even though it was 100 degrees outside, it was still a lot of fun! Both children received a piece of paper that we had to walk around to the different events and collect four stamps. When we were leaving, we traded their papers in for a free gift! It was a big pinwheel that the kids could turn to the the different Thomas & Friend trains! It would tell you the name of the train and something about each one of them. The pinwheels both fell apart less than 24 hours after we got them home. I wasn't happy about that, but, they were free.

There was a small petting zoo, gift shop, a chance to take photos with Sir Topham Hatt, a chance to get photos taken in front of Thomas, Bounce Houses, a big Slide, Miniature Golf, a Magician, a Story Telling area under a tent, with a woman dressed like Mother Goose, a small train for children to ride on while waiting for their ride on Thomas, a canopy with train tables for children to play with, and of course, a twenty five minute train ride on Thomas!!!

My children especially loved the big play area/canopy with train tables, a table with pictures for children to color, and a few tables with Mega Bloks on them for kids to play with!

There was also a big covered area, where the Magician was, in which you could purchase hotdogs, hamburgers, drinks, and snacks! I also saw a Frozen Lemonade vendor and a Snowcone vendor. It would have been even more great if they opened it up to other vendors in the area. Some ice cream or Sweet Tea would have been great, especially since it was so hot outside. The gift shop was alright. It was easy to navigate around things with a lot of people inside. But, it wasn't air conditioned and they had the doors open. It would have been nice to go inside to cool off, but instead, I made a B-line for the door because it was warmer in there then it was outside.

We also took our own photos in front of Thomas. They weren't that great of photos, but I wasn't going to pay over $20 for a photo of my kids taken by someone else. You could also pay for a photo with Sir Topham Hatt, which we didn't get a chance to do.

The best part of our Day Out With Thomas was meeting Carmen! She is the owner of "Closer to Lucy!" She is so sweet and so nice. She lives about an hour from me! This was the first time that I have ever met another blogger in person!

Overall, we had a great day! I took our small Nissan Versa and got a parking spot right across the street from the gate! It was nice not to have to walk very far to get back to the car to leave.

If you live in or around the Nashville, Tennessee area, you can attend a Day Out With Thomas: Leader of the Pack Tour this coming weekend, Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th! Purchase tickets online or at the gate!

Disclosure: I received tickets to the "Day Out With Thomas: Leader of the Pack Tour" in exchange for my honest review about the event from a PR firm. No financial compensation was exchanged.

  1. Was so amazing to meet you and put a face to the URL!

Looks like the heat didn't hold you back as much as the gravel did us :)

    We LOVE Thomas!
