Synopsis:
Desperate to see their church grow, Pastor John (Robert Amaya, MOM’S NIGHT OUT, COURAGEOUS) and wife Betsy (Erin Bethea, FIREPROOF) do the unthinkable and change their church Christmas pageant. Flabbergasted, elderly choir director Mary Margaret (Sallie Wanchisn) leads the choir to boycott. Facing termination, Pastor John resorts to disguising himself as an old man to bridge the generation gap, win over Mary, and lead the choir back to the church. My Review:
Altar Egos is about a church with few attendees because the elders are against change. Everyone liked the way that the pastor's father did things, and they use this against him to keep everything the same. The pastor wants to change the Christmas pageant at the church and the choir leader said no, so she leaves the church and so does the choir. So the pastor and his son dress up as elderly people and decide to take a walk and trial run at their local mall. They end up being invited to a local Christmas party with all of the church choir.
The pastor even interviews for a new pastor position at another church that is up and running with many in the congregation. This church is even looking to be online or on TV soon. Will John and his son, Jack get caught pretending to be other people? Will the church fire him from his job and hire a new pastor?
Who needs to change? The church? Or the pastor?
"Alter Egos is about love and family. I recommend this movie for children ages 12 and up because of the relationship between the son and a girl he likes. It just depends on what you allow your kids to see. This movie is PG, and I wouldn't have any issues with my children watching it. I just feel they would be bored really quickly, as they are only nine, eight and five.
*My only complaint about that movie is when Jack was driving, he wasn't wearing his seat belt.
