PLEASE Don't leave your kids in the Car, EVER!

I don't care if they are sleeping, you are only running into a liquor store or 7/11, NEVER leave your kids in the car alone without someone 14 years of age or older at least, sitting with them. Don't ever leave your kids in the car with the engine running, with the AC on, and the doors closed. You might think that they can't or won't get out of their car seats, but never underestimate your children.

With it getting HOT outside, more and more people are leaving their sleeping children parked in HOT cars with the windows cracked or down. Why the heck would you do this? When you come back to the car, even 5 minutes later, it can be Extremely Hot in your car and your children can suffer heat stroke or even death! Seriously, use common sense. If you were a child, you wouldn't want anyone to leave you in a parked, HOT car with no AC and no supervision. So don't do this to your children.

This also applies to Dogs and other animals too!

  1. Great post. This should be a massive notice posted all over the Internet because I continue to see dogs and children left in hot cars. It's dangerous, idiotic and irresponsible. Not to mention cruel.

  2. Not to mention the risk of someone taking your child.
In the town where I used to live, a woman left her sleeping baby sitting in the car at the gas pump while she ran in to pay (keys in, engine and a/c going). A man jumped into the running car and sped off. He didn't realize that the car he had just stolen had a baby in the back seat.
To his credit, once he discovered the child, he drove the car to a place it would quickly be discovered and parked it in a shaded area with the windows down. It could have turned out so much worse though. Why take that chance?
