Discovery Channel's "HELLO WORLD" Starring Celebrities Starts Saturday, July 9th! #HelloWorld

HELLO WORLD! takes viewers deep into the environments of animals as varied as sea turtles, jumping spiders, rhinos, and hawks as they live their daily lives. Whether they are searching for water, looking for love, or caring for their families, these animals all have a singular way of surviving.  Each episode features the artist’s vibrant storytelling and one of their well-known songs, as well as a lush musical score.

Presented in association with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), HELLO WORLD! is a six-part series taking a look at the wonders of the natural world through the eyes of some of today’s most celebrated musicians.  The series brings out the universal themes of the artists’ music by using it as a soundtrack for the stories of animals in the wild. HELLO WORLD! debuts Saturday, July 9 with two back-to-back episodes for three weeks. The series is produced by RadicalMedia on behalf of Discovery Channel. (Check your local listings)

Talent Featured in the Series Includes: Usher (airs July 9th at 8pm EST); Christina Aguilera; Steven Tyler; Ellie Goulding (airs July 16th at 8:30pm EST); Joan Jett and Dave Matthews.

My Review:
I really enjoyed watching HELLO WORLD! It took me away from social media and everything else going on in our world, in America today, and it let me just be one with nature, since it's been doing nothing but raining here in Tennessee. I love being outside! I love listening to birds, watching them fly, sing, etc. We have a creek out in back of our home and we check it out after each rainstorm to see the glistening frog's eggs in the puddles of water. We enjoy watching them grow into tadpoles, and then into frogs and watching nature repeat itself over and over again.

The imagery is beautiful, the story telling and music is wonderful! Take some time out, turn off your phones and computers, grab your loved ones and watch HELLO WORLD and tune out to all of the things going on around us for a while. Trust me, it's worth it.

HELLO WORLD starts on Saturday evening, July 9th at 7pm CST on the Discovery Channel. Check your local listings and set your DVR or watch it live!

Disclosure: I received an early screener of Discovery Channel's new show "Hello World" in exchange for my post. No other compensation was exchanged or received.

BUDDYMOON Movie (Starring David Giuntoli from NBC's "Grimm") Now Showing in Select Theaters & On Demand! #BUDDYMOON

Directed by: Alex Simmons
Writers/Executive Producers: Flula Borg, David Giuntoli and Alex Simmons
Cast: David Giuntoli, Flula Borg, Claire Coffee, Brian T. Finney, Jeanne Syquia
Twitter: #BUDDYMOON

BUDDYMOON. David Giuntoli and Claire Coffee are heading into a new season of NBC’s “Grimm” but first, both are starring in this “bromantic comedy,” now in select theaters and on demand.

Giuntoli stars as “David," who has been left by his fiancĂ© days before the wedding. “Flula" (Flula Borg, “Pitch Perfect 2"), his eccentrically upbeat best man, insists that they go on David’s  honeymoon together: a backpacking trip through Oregon’s scenic mountains. The pair crosses paths with a dazed conspiracy theorist, an attractive, charming backpacker (Coffee), and a bloodthirsty predator (an actual wolf) who all partake in a trek that tests their friendship – and their lives.

My Review:
I really liked this movie. It started off a little slow, but I really got into it. I almost wished that I was there hiking and camping with them. I have been watching the TV show "Grimm" since it started, so seeing David Giuntoli and Claire Coffee in different roles was interesting. It helped me to see them both in different light. Who knew that David Giuntoli could be funny?! I didn't, until I saw Buddymoon!

Go see Buddymoon if it's playing at your local movie theater, or check if it's playing On Demand! This movie is for those 16 to 18 years of age or older. This movie is not for children or teens, and they wouldn't understand the adult situations or language. Buddymoon will change you and the way you think about life a little. It made me realize just how short life is and more. But you will have to see Buddymoon to understand what I'm talking about. Oh, and the scenery in the background is beautiful!

LEGO® Friends: Always Together DVD #Review! #Lego #LegoFriends #ad

Disclosure: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

The episodes of LEGO® Friends: Always Together, follow best friends Andrea, Stephanie, Olivia, Emma and Mia throughout a diverse array of expeditions in their hometown. From entering a talent contest, to going camping – and even assisting in running a hotel – the girls combine their eclectic skill sets and unique interests to seize the day. In each adventure, they are faced with adversity but quickly learn that anything is possible when you work together!

Five best friends are reunited as they embark in all sorts of adventures across Heartlake City in LEGO Friends: Always Together, a continuation of the popular TV specials currently airing on the Disney Channel.

From the back cover:
A talent show has come to Heartlake City, and all the girls enter the competition hoping to impress the judges, especially their idol, pop star Chloe, in Andrea's Big Moment. No one is more excited than Olivia about science camp at a beautiful, rocky offshore island with a lighthouse. But Olivia quickly gets of on the wrong foot with a mysterious girl named Kate who seems obsessed with a medallion necklace and the island's rumored history of pirates and treasure in Kate's Island. The girls have come for breakfast at the fanciest hotel in town, now owned by Andrea's family. When Andrea's aunt has to leave town, the girls volunteer to run the hotel for the weekend with the help of a quirky Grandma Jean in The Grand Hotel.

Each character in the LEGO Friends: Always Together story has unique personality traits and hobbies to appeal to children of all interests and passions. Through positive messages of teamwork, perseverance and acceptance, viewers will learn some of life’s most important lessons, all while following the five girls through three exciting episodes!

Purchase your copy today on Amazon.com (affiliate link)!

My Review:
I like watching the LEGO Friends animated shows. They are almost always about friendship, being nice to others, being a good friend, helping others and more. It's also neat to see some of the Legos used in the animated shows are actually Lego sets that we can purchase for my girls to play with too! If you have girls ages three and up, they will like watching the Lego Friends shows on DVD or on The Disney Channel.

In The Grand Hotel episode, everyone tries to help out in the hotel that one of the girl's grandmother's owns because a local critic is coming. One of the Lego Friends watches the dogs, Emma watches children (daycare at the hotel), Mia helps cook in the kitchen, etc. Running the daycare becomes more than Emma can handle when she loses the children! Then the fun begins!

We have been picking a new DVD to watch every day to two, as it's been super warm here outside in Tennessee and raining! You would swear that we live in Seattle, WA, but nope! We get a lot of rain in the summer in Tennessee. I am finally getting used to the heat outside here and being outside with my kiddos, and BAM! Rain, and lot of it!

So when it's hot outside, super cold or raining cats and dogs, put in a copy of LEGO Friends: Always Together on DVD and enjoy either one 20 minute show, or the whole 120 minute DVD!

"Fingerprint Princesses and Fairies" and "Fingerprint Monsters and Dragons" Book #Reviews!

Children will be spending some time indoors this summer, even though we'd rather them be outside playing with their friends, investigating nature or playing in water, they have to be supervised a majority of the time. We live outside of Nashville, in Tennessee. The summers can be super hot, humid and rainy! It's somewhat like living in Seattle, Washington some years. No joke! So the kids end up inside the house coloring, making forts, playing games, making cards for people and now, we are spending time making cards for people and decorating those cards with Fingerprint Art!

Create engaging art activities with children - at home or in the classroom. Packed with fun step-by-step instructions, this book teaches you how to make 30 classic fictional foes including trolls, pirates, warlocks, and skeletons with only the tips of your fingers. Enjoy your own fantasy world, no paintbrush required! Kids aren't the only ones who will love it, artists of all ages can put their finger on the fun of art.

Once I knew that we were receiving a copy of "Fingerprint Monsters and Dragons: And 100 Other Adventurous Creatures," I also purchased some finger stamp sets to use to press our fingers into to make Fingerprint Monsters, Dragons and more! We have had so much fun with this book and with the "Fingerprint Princesses and Fairies: And 100 Other Magical Creatures" book, that we show them to everyone who comes over and we show them photos of our most recent creations! (The finger printing art set pops up when I searched finger paint online. So I just had to get one! It has colored pencils, small stamps and stamp pads.)

We have created many cute and adorable little fairies, creatures, insects and more! My girls are almost seven and four years old. They have created birthday cards and thank you cards for their friends and our family and they've been decorating them with fingerprint creatures, fairies, princesses, dragons, etc. These are so simple that I would say most children ages four to five and up can do these!

Check out the pages below. All you do is to follow the step by step directions on the pages, then decide which color of finger paint or stamp that your going to use, and how to position your fingerprint on your paper or card, Then, add eyes, happy face, lines, polka dots, hands, feet or whichever the photos tell you to do next!

Disclosure: I received a copy of both the "Fingerprint Princesses and Fairies" and "Fingerprint Monsters and Dragons" books in exchange for my post. No other compensation was exchanged or received.

Blog Tour: "Please Be Nice to Sharks" Children's Book #Review & #Giveaway! (U.S.) Ends 7/21 #Sharks #BeNiceToSharks @SterlingBooks

Shark Week might be over, but you can still learn more about sharks and teach your children more about them too!

Please Be Nice to Sharks (Sterling Children’s Books) by Matt Weiss, a humorous book that humanizes sharks through breathtaking underwater photography and incredible facts.

Meet 14 cool sharks (and one manta ray) and see why it's important to BE NICE TO SHARKS! Though they’re often portrayed as vicious man-eaters, sharks actually kill fewer than 10 people per year. Yet those myths cause real harm: many species are being hunted to extinction, with as many as 100-200 million sharks being killed each year. This humorous book humanizes the incredible shark through breathtaking, original, underwater photography along with incredible facts about these amazing creatures in the wild—sending kids a crucial message about conservation in an irresistible format.

About the Author:
Matt Weiss is the owner of Dive Photo Guide and is a diver, photographer, biologist, author, and ocean lover. Please Be Nice To Sharks is his first children’s book. Follow him on Twitter at either @MattDPG or @DivePhotoGuide and learn more about him on his website: DivePhotoGuide.com. Matt lives in New York.

My Review:
My children and I like the "Please Be Nice to Sharks" book. They enjoyed watching some of the Shark Week shows, as some of them were a little too violent for them to see, as they are only eight, six and four years old. We learned that the Lemon Shark has five rows of teeth! Bamboo Sharks are one of the smallest sharks on earth and they only swim when they feel threatened. Whale Sharks have no teeth at all and they can grow to be larger than a yellow school bus! My kids thought this was cool, but I don't. Whale Sharks are huge! This book has been a great teaching tool to help my children learn more about sharks! Now they want to know more, and so do I!
