My children and I really enjoyed the New
Veggies Tales: "Veggies in Space, The Fennel Frontier." We don't go to church, instead, we teach them about God ourselves, through Veggie Tales, the bible, and answering any questions they may have about Christianity. I haven't found a church that I feel comfortable in yet, long story, short.
The message of this new movie is Sharing! It's repeated throughout the movie. What a Great, Valuable lesson to teach our children! I feel that this movie is even for people who don't believe in God, because it can still teach your children, to share things with those less fortunate then themselves.
A few messages in the movie that really stood out to me were:
- "If we have enough to spare, we also have enough to share."
- "Share the power, and save the planet!"

My story about giving:
I belong to a few online trading and freebie groups, and when we have extra anything, toys, books, shoes, clothing, household items, books, toys, or food, that we share it with others. We post it on the Facebook sharing group page, and we see who wants it or needs it. Needs always come first. There's even a place for people to post that they need clothes, shoes, household items, or misc. items. Some people dream big and they ask for appliances, beds, TV's, and more. Sometimes their wishes come true, but not always. It's been a huge blessing to belong to this awesome group of people and to pass things onto others, and then to re-pass them when we are done using them!
My four and a half year old daughter, Chloe, asked me what I was doing gathering up the last bit of baby things that we had in our home. I told her that I was going to give them to a little nine month old baby girl who just moved here with her parents, and that the baby had no toys, blankets, etc. My daughter went upstairs to her room and gave me her first ever baby doll that she received from Santa when she was little. She said that she wanted the little baby to have it. She made me cry. To know that my children are watching me give our things to other people that we really don't need is awesome. My children are growing up knowing that when you give things, you will in turn receive things in return. The more we give to others, the more we receive things that we really need in return. It's true, it does work!
My children have grown up wearing hand-me-down clothing. To them, it's new, they don't care if someone else wore it before them. Very rarely do we buy new clothing for our kids. Even our oldest, who is six and a half, usually wears clothing that belonged to someone else. My son's pants and shirt were given to us. My daughter's pink silly shirt, she calls it her tattoo shirt, was also given to us. When we are done with them, someone else's children will get them!
