Being a mom means many sleepless nights. Waking up at any hour of the night, usually more than once, to calm down a little one whose had a bad dream.
Being a mom means giving up your sweet tea to your girls, because they love it as much as you do. Or telling them that you have soda in your cup because you really don’t want to share.
Being a mom means taking care of your sick children, even when you are sick yourself. Because no one else is going to do it, and they need you.
Being a mom means helping your children with homework, even if you don’t understand it yourself. We can try our best by following the examples on the worksheets to help them, but we don’t always understand it. (I so wish we had text books to look up how to do things, it would be so helpful.)
Being a mom means giving up your privacy in the bathroom. Cause no matter what you do, if you go to the bathroom, it becomes a family event! Even if you lock the door, they are sitting or standing right outside of it, waiting for you. Sort of like your pets!
Being a mom means being patient, no matter how much of a hurry you are in. Someone is always going to lose a shoe, sock, lovey, etc. And they need your help to find it.
Being a mom means sharing your breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner with your children and anyone else’s children visiting your home. They all want what you have, even if they have the same exact things on their plates. If it’s on mom’s plate, it must be way better than what they are eating!
Being a mom means being physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted beyond everything you've ever known. It’s a lot of work, but it’s so worth it and so rewarding in more ways than you could imagine.
