Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker #Review & #Giveaway! (U.S.) Ends 11/22 #HolidayGiftGuide #FashionRebel

Thames & Hudson publishes a sketchbook for daring young fashion rebels who want to create their own stylish looks!

A silk evening gown with a grunge cardigan and cool, retro hi-tops. Surfer shorts with jeweled slippers and a tough motorcycle jacket. Skinny jeans with a peasant blouse, cowboy boots, and a flower crown. Today, the most exciting fashion design combines colors, materials, and styles to create completely unique looks.

Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker includes everything aspiring designers ages 8 and up need to break the mold and create their own brilliant outfits. This exciting activity book features a drawing pad with the outline of a model on each page, and clothing template cards in a convenient pocket behind the front cover. Each card has easy-to-replicate outlines of a whole range of garments and accessories, from dresses and coats to shoes, scarves, and bathing suits. The young designer chooses a garment on a card, slides it behind a translucent sketchbook page, and traces the outline over their model. Then they repeat the process until the model’s outfit is complete. Each page has a fill-in Garment Box similar to those used in design studios, so budding fashion illustrators can note all the details about the design and choose a name for each look.

Savvy young designers can come up with imaginative creations by mixing all kinds of pieces, from preppy slacks and sporty tops to rockabilly skirts and Parisian-chic berets, pushing fashion boundaries and cultivating a sketchbook bursting with ideas and attitude.

About the Creators:
Louise Scott-Smith is a children’s wear designer. She was formerly Head of Children’s Wear Design at Liberty of London and at Caramel Baby & Child.

Georgia Vaux is a graphic designer, book designer, and art director.

My Review:
I feel that the Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker is a great thing for girls or boys who are looking to design their own clothing, but they don't know where to start. My six year old daughter was super excited about being able to trace and then design and decorate the clothing on the models. The folder has a sketch pad with thin paper so that a child or person can place the cards underneath the paper and trace the skirt, pants, dresses, etc. There's even a card with patterns & trim on it so that you can make the skirt or shirt cheetah print, chevron printed and more! I feel that even five and size year old children and adults alike would like the Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker!

Cardinal Health Hospital Quality at Home! #BringTheCaringHome #IC #ad

Disclosure: Cardinal Health sent me these products to try, and donated to a charity of my choice.

I received a Hospital Quality at Home Advanced Wound Care pack in exchange for my post. It included samples of some gloves, would care products and some broken down boxes with information about the products and how to use them.

I have stayed in the hospital a total of six times. Once when I was five or six to have my tonsils out, three times for c-sections, once because I was pregnant and pulled a stomach muscle at 29 weeks and I thought that I was having contractions, and this last time was because I contracted Group A Strep, on my face. I looked awful. I was grateful that I followed my instincts and had my husband take me to the emergency room, or it could have been way worse. I was able to leave the hospital after four and a half days and I had to take antibiotics for ten days after I got home.

After my second c-section with my daughter Chloe, I could have used Cardinal Health's products. My c-section incision didn't close correctly and I was sent home with a few small holes in my stomach. Gross, I know. It would have been nice to have some sort of pads to sleep on like the Protective Underpad that I received in my kit. Instead, I ended up sleeping on water proof crib pads that I could wash and hang up to dry each night. My incision was leaking fluid day and night. I had to put long sanity napkins in the front of my underwear to absorb the fluid so that it wouldn't soak through my clothing. This went on for a few months before the holes started getting smaller. It took almost six months for my incision to completely heal. But I had to go to the store and walk around to get the supplies that I needed. I had no idea that I could go to the Cardinal Health website and hit "store locator" or just click and order from Amazon! This would have made my life, and recovery from having a baby, much easier to do.

After giving birth, undergoing surgery or recovering from an illness or injury, the scramble to obtain the best medical supplies for home care proves a difficult task. With a list of necessities from a physician or nurse in hand, one may find themselves bouncing from pharmacy to drugstore in search of the right products, amongst a sea of varieties and brands. The Cardinal HealthTM Advanced Wound Care products are ideal for local wounds such as blisters, minor cuts and scrapes, minor burns and minor surgical wounds.

Cardinal Health™ Hospital Quality at Home™ products make the transition from hospital to home recovery a smoother and more successful one. With products that aim to give you professional quality with the ease of at-home use, the focus remains on healing and recovery.

Cardinal Health medical products and services are used by most U.S. hospitals. They recently launched a line of at-home care products to provide comfort and independence while promoting healing. The Cardinal Health™ brand offers a full assortment of hospital-quality products to consumers, including Advanced Wound Care, First Aid, Personal Care, and Home Healthcare products.

Hospital-acquired pressure ulcers, sometimes called a bedsore, are the second most common patient safety incident:  Nearly 36 for every 1,000 hospitalizations. Under the supervision of a health care professional, some use cases for transparent dressings include early stage bedsores (stage I and II pressure ulcers). Under the supervision of a health care professional, the Hydrocolloid and Silicone Bordered Foams may be used for diabetic, venous and arterial ulcers (common types of leg and foot ulcers) and early stage bedsores (stage I and II pressure ulcers).

Each year, 46.1 million inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures take place – so proper post-hospital care is critical to avoid re-admission. Nearly 40 million Americans provide unpaid care to an adult. Access to the same quality products used in hospitals may positively impact quality of life for loved ones and caregivers transitioning care to the home.

The Cardinal HealthTM Advanced Wound Care products cover a wide range of needs that aid healing, offer long-lasting protection, and help provide a moist environment, which helps promote wound healing. With nearly 100 years of experience, Cardinal Health provides medical products and services to many of America’s most prestigious medical institutions. Help Make Koby's Dream Come True! #KobysProject

Koby (a friend of mine's little boy) wants to get close to 500 Hotwheels and/or Matchbox Cars to give to children in need. What he wants to do is round up hot wheels for either sick children or kids who need a special boost (kids in shelters etc). He wanted to round up legos, but after some thought he decided on hotwheels, matchbox or similar vehicles are MUCH more affordable.

His goal is to round up at least 200 because 500 was a crazy number which he wanted to be his ultimate goal. The cars can be new or used. He is very excited about this project!

However, in the mean time he is asking if anyone feels inspired and you are able to help him there is several ways to do so. Anyone can round up clean used cars, pick some out to add to his tote or send a gift card for Walmart or Target (he will be happy to pick them out for you), he will take pictures of all the cars that get donated by either method.

If you are interested in helping him achieve his goal he will be deeply thankful. Please email me at mysticbutterfly37 at yahoo.com for Koby's address.

If you aren't able to help please keep this project in your thoughts and prayers. He feels very inspired and motivated to help others. His biggest worry is not being able to follow through with his idea because he can't get the help.

Here is a copy of Koby's letter to others asking to help with his Project!

The Polar Express 30th Anniversary Edition Book #Review & #Giveaway! (U.S.) Ends 11/15 #HolidayGiftGuide #ReadAndBelieve #SeeingIsBelieving

To celebrate this milestone anniversary, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is introducing a stunning 30th anniversary edition of The Polar Express, which reveals a new jacket design and expanded interior layout, and includes a letter from Van Allsburg, downloadable audio read by Liam Neeson and a golden Keepsake Ornament.

The Polar Express was first published in 1985, has been honored with a Caldecott Medal, the highest accolade in children's books; inspired dozens of seasonal train rides around the country; served as the theme for countless elementary school pageants; and perhaps most important of all, remains a steadfast reminder to readers young and old of the true magic of Christmas.

About the Book:
One Christmas Eve many years ago, a boy lies in bed, listening hard for the bells of Santa’s sleigh, which he has been told by a friend do not exist. Later that night he hears not bells but a very different sound. He looks out his window and is astounded to see a steam engine parked in front of his house! The conductor invites him to board the Polar Express, a train filled with children on their way to the North Pole.

The train takes the children to the center of the city, where Santa and the elves have gathered for the giving of the first gift of Christmas. The boy is chosen to receive this first gift. Knowing that he can choose anything in the world, he decides on a simple gift: one silver bell from Santa’s sleigh. Santa cuts a bell from a reindeer’s harness and the delighted boy slips it into his bathrobe pocket as the clock strikes midnight and the reindeer pull the sleigh into the sky.

When the children return to the train, the boy realizes the bell has fallen through a hole in his pocket. Heartbroken, he is returned to his home. In the morning, his little sister finds one small box with the boy’s name on it among the presents. Inside is the silver bell! The boy and his sister are enchanted by its beautiful sound, but their parents cannot hear it. The boy continues to believe in the spirit of Christmas and is able to hear the sweet ringing of the bell even as an adult.

My Review:
We watch The Polar Express movie several times before Christmas. It has become part of our family movie tradition. I am a kid at heart. I love believing in Christmas Magic, and I love helping my three children to do so too! Now we can incorporate reading the book during the holidays too! There are a few differences in the book then there are in the movie. The movie added a few things in that aren't included inside the book. I really like them both! I can't wait to hang the Ornament on my Christmas Tree this year and every year going forward. What a great edition to our ornament collection!

There is information for teachers and educators, discussion guide, a party kit, printable games, activities and more on PolarExpress.com! You can also enter The Polar Express Holiday Sweepstakes on the website for a chance to win a very special grand prize: An all-expenses paid trip for one lucky family of four to ride The Polar Express Train in Durango, Colorado! Sweepstakes ends on 12/31/2015.

True Heroes: A Treasury of Modern Day Fairy Tales - Book, Written by Best Selling Authors #Review! #AnythingCanBeProject #HolidayGiftGuide

About the book:
This one-of-a-kind treasury brings together the talents of nearly two dozen bestselling middle-grade authors including Shannon Hale, Brandon Mull, Ally Condie and Jennifer A. Nielsen-who have created original short stories, modern-day fairy tales, based on the lives and dreams of children they have met who all have two things in common: They have very big hopes and dreams and they are all cancer patients. Each short story is prefaced by a brief bio of the child and is accompanied by photographs of the child, fully costumed and digitally inserted into a background-A baker, a dancer, a superhero, a dragon fighter, a sports star, a princess and more- that makes them the hero of their own modern day fairy tale story written by one of their favorite authors.

My Review:
I really enjoyed this book, the photographs and the stories. My children love listening to them as bedtime stories and reading them too! This is a great book for everyone and anyone to read, young and old. This book would make a great Christmas Gift or anytime gift for others. I like that these children will forever be remembered in a great story written about them, and that these stories will be shared with the world.

True Heroes is available for purchase online and at your local book retailers. to learn more about the Anything Can Be Project, go to www.AnythingCanBeProject.com. ALL proceeds from purchasing this book will go to the Anything Can Be Project.

Photographer Jonathan Diaz asked each of these remarkable children, "If you could be anything, what would you be?" Their answers were the inspiration for this one-of-a-kind book.

So turn the page and meet Korbyn the firefighter, Bre the dancer, Braelyn the superhero, William the dragon rider, Tristan the football star, and Rae the princess—and more— who were all photographed in full costume and digitally inserted into a background showing them as the hero of their own story. Then read the original short stories that were based on each child's specific dream.

True Heroes shares the powerful message that children can do hard things. They are dreamers. They are fighters. They are heroes.

More Moodsters Products!

My Review:
I really enjoyed sharing The Scary Sleepover book and Moodsters Feelings Flashlight with my children. They enjoyed the book and talking about when they feel scared too. We also talked about the mood meter at the end of the book and about other feelings they have and how they might make us feel when we have them.

I feel that these books and products are great tools in helping us teach our children at home and for teachers in schools to help teach our young children about emotions and together, we can help to teach our kids how to handle their emotions. Like when your three year old throws a flashlight at her brother's head! He got so upset he yelled at her in her face about what she did. She sat down and cried while he stomped his feet and yelled pretty loudly all the way up the stairs to his room. He was pretty upset that she hurt his head. So talking to both of them about their feelings shortly after we read the book helped both children to realize how they were feeling.
