We recently had a chance to review the Cute & Calm SwaddleLite - Pastel Pink (Set of 3). They were semi-soft when I first took them out of the box, and they weren't scotch taped to hold their form in the box like most other products. After I washed all three blankets, they were really soft.

Take Your Family For A Day Out With Thomas the Train!

My children and I had the chance this year to go see and ride Thomas the Train at the Tennessee Central Railway Museum for a Day Out With Thomas: Mystery On The Rails Tour 2012! My children and I went to downtown Nashville, Tennessee to the train museum and we got to play with Mega Bloks, Thomas & Friends trains on some cute train layouts for children and adults to play with. There were bounce houses, story time, Thomas cartoons, a magician, temporary tattoos, photos with Sir Topham Hatt, miniature golf, a small train to ride on, and a gift shop. We had so much fun that we spent three hours taking our time doing the different activities.

When you and your children arrive at a Thomas event, you will receive a map, or a piece of paper to collect stamps on from the different activities around the Thomas event. After you receive all of your stamps, you can trade in your paper, or just show it to someone sitting at a table where you entered the event, and they will give you a little souvenir to take home.

Goodbye hug to their friend Zack to end their time with Thomas!

Hailey was all tuckered out from our busy morning.

This is the final weekend to take your children to go see Thomas. He won't be back again until September 2013.

"Home in the Cave" by Janet Halfman - Children's Book Review!

Home in the Cave is a beautiful story about a baby bat who doesn't want to practice waving his wings or learn to fly because he feels safe and doesn't want to leave his cave. The baby bat ends up waving his wings anyway, and he accidentally lets go of the cave ceiling and ends up falling into the nest of a rat. The rat takes the baby bat around to different areas of the cave and tells the baby bat how many creatures below depend on the bats to live and survive. There is some great information about bats and caves in the back of the book. This book is great for all children, homeschoolers, teachers, and anyone who wants to read a sweet story about a baby bat.

I never realized just how many creatures really do depend on bats above to survive. When we were in India, there were many bats up in the ruins of buildings and we could hear them making noise above and in darkened areas of the ruins.
