Disney's "Pete's Dragon" Opens In Theaters Tomorrow, 8/12! #PetesDragon @DisneyPetes

The most magical movie of the year, PETE’S DRAGON is finally opening in theaters everywhere tomorrow, August 12th! This is one of the best family movies of the year and equally perfect for kids and adults alike!

My Review:
Pete's Dragon is amazing, heartfelt, adventurous, exhilarating, and more! The animation of Elliot, Pete's Dragon, was done so well that I honestly felt he was real! We took our three children with us, ages 8 1/2, 7 and 4. Our two older children loved it and sat still through the whole movie. My four year old however, was antsy some of the time, but she liked it.

The beginning of the movie starts off with a car crash. But most children aren't going to completely realize that until they see the car laying upside down in the middle of a road. Then you'll hear growling! It's coming from a pack of wolves chasing 4-5 year old Pete. They look a little mean because you get a quick glimpse of them and their teeth. But then, Elliot comes to the rescue and saves Pete from the wolves. I am telling you this because not all children will be ok with this. Some sensitive children might be scared. There is also guns in this movie and guns shooting sleeping darts at Elliot. Near the end of the movie is gets a little scary when Elliot gets upset and blows fire on a bridge causing some issues, which I will let you watch it to find out! But like most Disney movies, it ends on a super happy note. You and your family will leave this movie feeling happy, and you probably won't even remember the wolves or the fire breathing dragon, which is neat by the way!

Overall, Pete's Dragon is a great movie! It's not a musical and it's different from the old Pete's Dragon movie. The story was very well written and the movie was very well put together!

I suggest this movie (in the theater) for children ages five and up, as most younger children aren't going to sit still. They might get too antsy and jump around, as some 4-5 year old children do.

About Pete's Dragon:
For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
