We took all three of our children with us to see this movie. They are four, seven and nine years old. My nine year old loved it! We recently saw the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, so seeing the second one was awesome! I really enjoyed the music in the film! I can't wait to purchase the movie soundtrack! The opening scene in the movie is violent, but you don't really notice it because your too busy watching little Groot dance along to the music. We all laughed here and there. It was more entertaining then the first movie.
But, there were some adult sexual jokes. More about body parts (the penis in particular). I don't honestly know why those jokes where put in the movie, as it would have been totally fine without it and probably made the movie rated PG, instead of PG-13. I feel that this movie is fine for children ages 9 and up, or older. You know your children and what they can and can't handle. This movie wasn't too violent and not really scary. The opening scene after little Groot is finished dancing is pretty much the scariest and grossest part of the whole movie.
Little Groot was my children's favorite! It was neat to see more about Rocket the raccoon in this movie too! I didn't feel he had much of a role int he first movie until the end. But he did in Vol. 2!
Make sure to stay in the theater and watch the movie credits! As there are five post credit scenes that set up Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3! Check out the movie trailer below!
