Wonder Forge's "Who Shook Hook?" Game Review and Giveaway! (U.S.) Ends 3/21 (Rafflecopter)
The Today Show did a story last week about the "return of the board game." It's true! Board games are coming back in a big way. I think that it's because of our economy. But either way, it's great news for the old board games such as Monopoly, Uno, Life, Candyland, Clue, Scrabble, and others. But it's especially good news for New Board Games! My children LOVE playing board games! Spring Break starts next week for my son. They get two whole weeks off of school, and we will be playing board games inbetween our scheduled play dates!
They had so much fun playing the Who Shook Hook? game (based on the Jake and the Neverland Pirates show on Disney Jr.) from Wonder Forge, that they now want to play it every day. It's great for my five and a half year old son who is still trying to develop his fine motor skills. He needs to work the muscles in his hands to be able to write better and so that the muscles in his hands will be strong enough to cut things. The Who Shook Hook? game is perfect for children ages four and up. That's what the box says anyway. My three and a half year old daughter played this game with my son and I just fine. It doesn't require any reading, so it was perfect for her to count and play with us.
Who Shook Hook? game requires children to use small tools, tweezers, a sword, shovel, and a fishing pole to try to pick up objects off of the hammock that Captain Hook is sleeping on. It would be nice if the fishing pole was a little stronger and not come apart so easily, but I think that it was because my children both keep messing with it. Other than that, the game pieces and parts are very well made. It only takes a few minutes to set the game up too! Your children can help set the game up with you, or by themselves. As when Captain Hook and the barrels, treasure chests, etc. fall off of the hammock, it can lead to tons of laughter from my children. They think it's the funniest thing to push down on the hammock and send Hook and the game piece flying everywhere.
Check out more games from Wonder Forge on their website. The Who Shook Hook? game and others from Wonder Forge can be purchased on amazon, at Toys R Us, Target, Walmart, and more! Who Shook Hook and other games from Wonder Forge, are currently on sale at your local Target store! I found it for $14.99 yesterday!
