How Do We Live Without Bottled Water, Diapers, Baby Wipes, Infant Formula and Paper Towels?

NO Affiliate Links! None!

What people can do instead of drinking/buying bottled water, diaper wipes, diapers, paper towels, how did people deal with life before these things existed! I'm actually thinking of typing it up! Well, something similar anyways. People in OC are so Needing bottled water to make bottles for their babies, and formula. I get formula. But what did people do and feed their babies before formula was invented?!

Before bottled water, people drank tap water, or filtered water. If you're worried about your tap water or making a bottle of formula for your baby, boil the water first. You can boil a great big pot of water on your stove for one minute, and then place in into a big pitcher or container with a lid on it to keep for your baby to make formula! Also, you can use this water for your CPAP machines! You can find more information here: https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/emergency/drinking/making-water-safe.html

If you can't purchase or find baby wipes to use for your child, then use a wet wash cloth, cut up old towels, old shirts, clearance fabrics, or reuse infant washcloths. (This is also great if you run out of toilet paper too!) Get it warm with warm water from your bathroom or kitchen, it cleans bottoms a lot easier then any baby wipe. Then rinse it under the faucet when your done if your infant pooped, and throw it into your washing machine. Wash all wash clothes used for your baby in warm or hot water with laundry soap, and bleach if you want to make sure they are super clean! Most of us aren't going anywhere! Save your baby wipes for when you leave the house! Here's a post about doing this: https://thiswestcoastmommy.com/all-about-using-cloth-baby-wipes/  She also has more information about green living, cloth diapers, and more!

If you can't find diapers in the store, consider purchasing cloth diapers! You can find these in some stores like Wal-mart, Target, and for sure, from Etsy and other online retailers and websites. Just search for them online! Wash and reuse them! Or find the old gerber diapers, diaper pins, and plastic pants! Yes, they do still sell plastic pants on amazon and at some Babies R Us stores! Wash them and reuse them, hang them up to dry! Then resell them when you're done, or use them to wash your cars! You can also reuse the plastic pants for potty training!

Here's a website on how to make your own Baby Formula: https://wehavekids.com/parenting/Emergency-Baby-Formula
There are also a recipe for rice formula. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

Instead of paper towels, stock up on kitchen towels! I know, you can't drain your hamburgers or bacon on a kitchen towel! But, you can use them to dry your hands, clean up messes, and more in your kitchen!

Good luck out there! I know it seems like everyone in this world has gone mad, but things should level off soon and get better! Lots of hope and prayers, as we are all in this together.

College Prep For Homeschool Students #sponsored

My twelve year old son has high functioning Autism. So far, he has done ok with public school, but I feel that he would do better if he was homeschooled. Same with my ten year old daughter, she likes schoolwork, but hates the teachers and classmates. She would probably graduate at sixteen or seventeen years old if she was homeschooled. Inbetween work and taking my kids to school, I try to listen to podcasts about life and homeschooling my children.
This post is sponsored by College Prep Science. Copyright 2020 by Greg Landry.
Former college professor, homeschool dad, and homeschool science pioneer, Greg Landry, is
excited about two new homeschool student-produced print publications. He’s assembling a
"production team" of homeschooled students to produce these print journals. Here’s the information:
The Journal for Homeschooled Creators
This print journal is to showcase the work of homeschooled students (6th-12th grade) who create: writers,
paint/sketch artists, crafters, designers, welders, sculptors, architects, photographers, coders, blacksmiths, etc.
The Journal for Homeschooled Scientists
This print journal is to showcase the work of homeschooled students (6th-12th grade) who do science
research/experiments and would like to publish their research. A part of the mission of this publication will
be to train young scientists.
The Student Production Team
We're in the process of assembling a “student production team” (8th-12th graders) to produce these print
publications. They will be totally student-produced with some adult guidance. These volunteer positions
will give students valuable publishing experience, the opportunity to work with a like-minded team and
develop leadership skills, and the opportunity to produce a print publication (yes, you can actually hold
it in your hand) they can be proud of.

Also, this is exactly the type of rare high school student experience that college admission
committees love to see. Students can include this work as academic credit on their homeschool transcript.
We're Seeking Homeschooled Students (as part of the production team) To Do...
- Coordination/selection of submissions for the journals
- Graphic design
- Layout
- Copywriting/editing
- Artwork and more!

Homeschool dad, scientist, and former college professor, Greg Landry, offers live, online homeschool science classes, Homeschool ACT Prep Bootcamp, the Homeschool Mom’s Science Podcast, in-person two-day science lab intensives nationwide, freebies for homeschool moms, and student-produced homeschool print publications.

Desperate to escape the gracious but neurotic hosting of his parents (Bridges, Weaver), and with the aid of his enabling best friend (Jeong) Bruno sets a risky plan in motion to recover his home. But posing as a handyman for the cottage’s intriguing new tenant (Posey) turns his life - and his intentions - upside down.

RUN TIME: 98 minutes
RATING: R
STARRING: Ken Jeong, Parker Posey, Jackie Tohn, Beau Bridges , Kathleen Munroe, Aden Young, Jacki Weaver
DIRECTOR/WRITER: Hernan Jimenez
PRODUCERS: Chris Cole, J. Todd Harris

My Thoughts and Review:
I couldn't imagine being given some property owned by my in-laws and building a house to live on the land, and then having in spouse die and the in-laws tell you hat you have two weeks to move out of the house and of their land, because they own it an want the property back. Then moving back in with my parents. My goodness. I recently moved from TN to CA, back in with my parents, with my three children. It's been HARD. Especially since I never have asked my parents for help with anything, and then my dad wanted to take half of my income as rent! If I had to do that, and I explained that to him, I'd never be able to afford to move out of their house. We'd be living here more than a year, we'd have to stay 2-3 years in order to save up enough money to move.

Bruno then keeps going back to the only house he ever knew living with his wife, and taking care of the place. After three weeks, he goes back to the house and finds some strange woman inside. Bruno's in-laws blame him for their daughter's death and for her choice to live in the house that Bruno and his wife built together. As they have money and they are wealthy, but they were ashamed of their daughter's choices. The woman who moves into his home wants to hire a contractor to do some work on the house, so Bruno tells her that he's a contractor, and that he'll do the work. He helps her to change the house to her liking.

Bruno goes on a blind date with one of his mom's friends, and ends up sending the girl home in a cab so that he can go talk to the woman, Marie, who moved into his house. They hit it off and have a good time, and she gives him a kiss on the lips goodnight when he drops her off. Bruno and Marie start to fall in love and hang out more and more. Then Bruno is redoing the kitchen, and finds the will that his wife left.

Will Bruno get his house back? What will happen? I guess you'll have to rent "Elsewhere" on demand or see it in a movie theater near you to find out!

Disclosure: I received a private screener for the movie Elsewhere to view at home in exchange for my post. No other compensation was exchanged or received.

"Diana: Princess of the Amazons" - NEW Graphic Novel For Readers 8-12! #Review and #Giveaway! (U.S.) Ends 1/31/2020

Disclosure: I received one copy of the book "Diana: Princess of the Amazons" in exchange for my post from DC Entertainment. No other compensation was exchanged or received. The opinions below are mine and mine alone.

Diana: Princess of the Amazons

New Middle Grade Graphic Novel by Shannon and Dean Hale, Illustrated by Victoria Ying

Now Available to Purchase At Stores Everywhere Books Are Sold

This January, lasso in the New Year with Diana: Princess of the Amazons, a new middle grade original graphic novel from DC.

Perfect for readers ages 8-12, Diana: Princess of the Amazons is written by New York Times bestselling co-authors Shannon and Dean Hale and illustrated by popular artist Victoria Ying. This heartwarming tale follows 11-year-old Diana as she navigates the highs and lows of growing up as the only child on the entire island of Themyscira. It’s a story about family and friendship, learning from mistakes, and finding inner confidence. On sale everywhere books are sold today. (MSRP: $9.99)

Synopsis:
Cut off from the rest of the world, Diana has had an idyllic childhood on Themyscira. But now, at 11 years old, she’s beginning to feel more and more isolated. Though she has many “aunties” and a loving mother, she is an only child. THE only child, in fact.

After an escapade goes wrong, Queen Hippolyta chastises Diana for not living up to the Amazon standard. Diana just can’t seem to measure up, no matter what she does! Literally every other person on the island is an adult proficient in their trade and mighty in body, while she is gangly, sometimes clumsy, and not particularly proficient in anything. She’s not Wonder Woman yet. What Diana needs is a friend—someone her own age whom she can talk to. But when she decides to take matters into her own hands, she may just make a monster instead.

My Thoughts:
My ten year old daughter read this book and really liked it. She enjoys graphic books and novels and reads through them quickly. She enjoys reading about her favorite super heroes lives before they became super heroes and when they were younger. Graphic novels like these help younger readers to understand their favorite super heroes more in depth. I felt that it was a cute, enjoyable book. I just wish that there were AR tests for them in our schools for our children who can't read lengthy chapter books all the time.

The Hales are veterans in the children’s publishing space and are the co-authors behind acclaimed and fan-favorite novels and graphic novels including the Princess in Black series, Rapunzel’s Revenge, and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, among others. Both are longtime fans of Wonder Woman, and this book marks their first project with the character and first work with DC.

“I was so excited to write about young Wonder Woman,” said Shannon Hale. “I always wondered what it would feel like for young Diana to grow up as the only child in her world. How extraordinary—but also potentially lonely. We started from there and got to explore who Wonder Woman was as a child, and challenge her with an adventure that would help shape who she would become.”

“Wonder Woman has always been one of my favorite superheroes, but Diana has been one of my favorite heroes, full stop, super or not,” added Dean Hale. “To have the opportunity to tell a story in her formative years, to provide one of the many story ‘ingredients’ that combine to make her the hero she becomes, was an incredible honor.”

Diana: Princess of the Amazons also marks Ying’s first work with DC and her very first graphic novel. Ying comes to DC from an animation background, having worked on such hit Disney films as Tangled, Frozen, and Wreck-It Ralph, among others. Ying has also written and illustrated several children’s picture books and was thrilled to work on this original story starring Wonder Woman.

“It was a real treat to explore Diana as a child,” said Ying. “I had a blast drawing her and felt like I got to be her friend too.”

Leading into its January on-sale date, Diana: Princess of the Amazons has already received critical acclaim from such outlets as Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and School Library Journal, among others. The book was also selected by IndieBound’s prestigious Kids Next list for winter and is one of DC’s most anticipated releases of 2020.

“Diana: Princess of the Amazons is DC’s first solo Wonder Woman graphic novel geared toward middle graders, and we are thrilled with the reception so far,” said Michele Wells, vice president and executive editor, DC Books for Young Readers. “The Hales’ heartfelt reimagining of Wonder Woman combined with Ying’s playful and energetic illustrations make this original story a great introduction to the iconic superhero. Its debut will mark one of the largest print runs we’ve set since launching our young reader program, and we can’t wait to share this book with the next generation of Wonder Woman fans!”
