My Review:
My kids and I loved this DVD! I sat through all of it, they watched 30 minutes of it before getting distracted into playing in another room. Wish I would have taken that time to go to some cleaning, but I had to check out the DVD! It's perfect for a few minutes of peace and quiet, for road trips or for entertainment for the whole family! The jokes are geared towards everyone. Children and adults can all learn something about responsibility and kindness. We all need to be reminded once in a while to be kind to others. The puppies and guppies are so cute!

My Review:
These are not new VeggieTales cartoons. The DVD is made up of three older VeggieTales cartoons about Love and more! This was actually released in 2010. We have seen two of the three of them already. But it's still a cute contemplation of VeggieTales shows! Great for road trips, snow days, and more! The inbetween shorts of the veggie children talking about one another is cute! My eight year old son was laughing at some of the comments about the veggie kids and their siblings. Overall, it's a cute DVD of three different VeggieTales animated movies together and great for Valentine's Day!

Win It!

VeggieTales: Noah's Ark #Review And #Giveaway! (U.S.) Ends 3/15 #VeggieMoms #VeggieTales #VeggieFans #VTNoah

In Noah's Ark, Shem and Sadie (Jaci Velasquez) return home from their honeymoon to find that Noah (played by Pa Grape) has begun, at God's direction, to work on a massive ark, which his wife Naamah (played by Madame Blueberry) and sons Ham (Larry) and Japheth (Bob) are helping construct before the start of 40 days and 40 nights of rain.

But Shem doesn't understand Noah's unshakable faith in God, particularly when animals start arriving two-by-two - while the rain is nowhere to be seen. When the deluge does come, Shem begins to understand Noah's determination to preserve humanity's future... and the importance of trusting in God.

Noah's Ark also features a brand new "Silly Songs With Larry" segment, in which Larry dons a safari outfit as he goes on a quest for a gigantic, golden egg.

The Grammy nominated and multi-Emmy award-winning host of one of TV's most famous shows, Let's Make a Deal, and star of Whose Line Is It Anyway, Wayne Brady, brings to life Noah's son Shem, who first questions, then learns to embrace, his father's direction from God. Wayne Brady also performs seven original songs in Noah's Ark.

My Review:
This VeggieTales movie was more musical then the ones that I've seen in the past. It felt like everything that happened in the story was sung about. Little children will love it. My five and a half year old daughter asked if we could watch it again! Older children around six to seven may not be that into it. I love the story of Noah's Ark, and this one followed closely to the story in the bible, but with it's own Veggie twist of course. The animals are also super cute! Yes, the Ark looks like an orange slice!

I wasn't completely fond of one of the character's comment at the end of the movie that said that God told them to go forth and multiply. Then one of the characters asked what that meant. The other character then told him that she would explain it to him later. So it opened up the conversation about what that meant, because my five and a half year old daughter asked me about it. My seven and two and a half year old didn't even notice. I explained to her that it meant for them to have babies. She was fine with that explanation.

VeggieTales: Noah's Ark! (Available To Purchase On March 3rd!)

Contemporary Christian singer Jaci Velasquez has sold more than 4 million albums, including three certified Platinum recordings.  She hosts the popular Family Friendly Morning Show on national radio, and she has been on more than 50 magazine covers.

Despite all of her success and acclaim, Jaci’s voice gets excited and, well, animated when she talks about her newest project – starring as the voice of Sadie, wife of Shem (voiced by Wayne Brady) in the upcoming VeggieTales movie NOAH’S ARK, which will be available on DVD and digital download on March 3.

Jaci spent some time talking about her enthusiasm for NOAH’S ARK, and we’re happy to share her interview with you.

Why did you want to make a VeggieTales movie?
VeggieTales is like the Mecca of our house – I’ve got two little boys, and they cannot get enoughVeggieTales.  So, to be a part of this is just a wonderful thing for me.  My husband and I like to sing to our kids, but they could care less – it’s to the point where we’ll sing and practice a song with them while we’re giving them baths and they’ll plug their ears and say, “Mommy, Daddy! Stop!”  To be part of VeggieTales and do something for the first time that my kids might actuallyenjoy is wonderful.

The story of Noah and his ark has been told many times.  What makes the VeggieTalesversion different?
Well, I’m pretty sure it will be the only version with singing vegetables and a giant squid!  I think it was pretty brave of VeggieTales to take on the story of Noah because it is so familiar – but they make it feel completely new.  The animals are absolutely adorable, and there’s so much comedy; I’ve always thought VeggieTales movies were funny, but this one is really funny.  They’ve also really discovered something important about the story, because Noah’s Ark is about patience, trusting and believing.  Kids need to understand those things.  Whatever we pour into our children is what will pour out of them – what they learn as children is what they will be as adults.  We are planting seeds in their hearts and souls, and it’s important for them to understand that God has a purpose and a plan.  We don’t always understand it, and we have to trust in it.  That’s a big lesson, and Noah’s Ark helps parents start to teach it.

Who is your favorite VeggieTales character?
Sorry to be so typically “normal,” but it’s always Larry!  I love Madame Blueberry, as well, but really … Larry.  He just makes you happy.  He makes you laugh.  It’s like he’s every kid you’ve ever known, but he’s not – because he’s a vegetable!

Why do you think VeggieTales has been so popular for so long?
I think parents want good entertainment for their kids, especially in the world we live in.  You know, human beings are born knowing how to do the wrong thing, but we need to be taught how to do theright thing, and what better way to do that than through entertainment?  As a mom, I know that it can get really overwhelming to try to teach kids everything they need to know.  You say prayers with them at night, you read books with them, you take them to Sunday school – but that’s only one day a week.  So it helps to have entertainment that teaches them the truth and that teaches them fundamental things about life.  As a parent, VeggieTales gives me such gratitude!

Here is a clip of a brand-new VeggieTales song, “We Welcome You Aboard,” here:

Five Brand-New Episodes Of VeggieTales In the House Debut On Netflix on January 30th, 2015!!!

The upcoming episodes will have something for every VeggieTales fan – important lessons, affirmations of faith, new songs and music, and perhaps most exciting of all … new characters, along with some returning favorites, including LarryBoy, the world-famous Veggie hero!

We’ll have more about the new characters in an upcoming eVEGelist email, but I can share with you that they include the first meat character in the Veggie world, Bacon Bill, along with LarryBoy’s nemesis, Motato.

Want to give your readers an early look at the all-new episodes that debut Jan. 30?  Here’s an eVEGelist-exclusive clip that you can easily embed!  (If you need it in a different format, please let me know.)

In the episode called “Lie-Monade,”  Larry opens a lemonade stand in order to raise money, and the Veggies are excited to buy his beverage.  But he doesn’t tell anyone that the reason he wants the money is to buy the latest video game -- and, in this song, Larry reveals that he has learned an important lesson in being honest with others ... and with God:

Here’s a quick look at all of the brand-new VeggieTales In the House episodes that debut on Jan. 30:

Episode 6 – “Pa Grape’s Son”: Pa Grape adopts Jean Claude for the day so they can compete in the Father and Son Day Celebration games.  “Larry’s Cardboard Thumb”: Larry convinces Petunia to let him take care of her plants – but can he handle the job?

Episode 7 – “The Gong Heard ’Round the House” – Bob bangs a gong every time he performs an act of kindness in an effort to get his name on the town’s new generosity shelter. “When the Dust Bunnies Came to Town”: Larry and the Veggies ignore warnings from Pa Grape, Ichabeezer and Granny Asparagus not to open the air-conditioning vent … there’s a reason it’s locked!

Episode 8 – “The Bucket List”: Bob and Larry take Ichabeezer on an adventure, doing all the things they think he wants to do. “A Gift for Singing”: Pa Grape asks Madame Blueberry to sing a new jingle for his store, which leads Ichabeezer to create his own, less-happy jingle. (Note: A scene from “The Bucket List” is pictured above.)

Episode 9 – “Lie-Monade”: Larry opens a lemonade stand to raise money – so he can buy the latest video game. “Let’s Build a Fort!”: When his dad is too busy to help him, Junior Asparagus recruits Laura Carrot and Larry to help him build a giant fort.

Episode 10 – “Bacon and Ice Cream”: Pa Grape asks Larry to let the silly new guy, Bacon Bill, help him drive the ice-cream cart. “For the Honor of LarryBoy”: LarryBoy is reluctant to save grumpy old Ichabeezer from the nefarious Motato – will he stand by his code of honor and do the right thing?

VeggieTales: Beauty and the Beet! #Review #Giveaway (2 Winners!) (U.S.) Ends 10/20 (Rafflecopter)

Mirabell (Kellie Pickler) first meets Finigan Beet when her daddy, aka Larry the Cucumber, eats a chocolate rose. The Beet comes down the stair and snaps at him for eating his chocolate Rose. Then the VeggieTones says that they can't afford to pay for a room, but they will work off their bill in any way possible.

It turns out that the hotel where the VeggieTones bus stops at, needs some new hotel entertainment! The VeggieTones sing on the stage for one of the hotel guests, and they now have to sing at night, and clean the hotel during the day.

Mirabell goes to serve dinner to Mr. Beet and suggests giving him singing lessons because it turns out, he's a big oprah music fan.

Silly Songs with Larry was about his great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandparents and Macaroni! So hilarious! We all got into saying the great, great, great, great.... parts!

We especially loved the food fight in the kitchen with Bob the Tomato and the band, aka the French Peas. The music lessons with Mirabell and Mr. Beet were cute. Mr. Beet started to get into it and give singing a try with her. They were so loud, that most everyone in the hotel heard them.

I can't tell you more than that, because it would ruin the story! The lesson of VeggieTales: Beauty and the Beet is Unconditional Love. This is one of my favorite VeggieTales movies ever!

VeggieTales: Beauty and the Beet will be available for purchase Today at your local Christian Store OR available for purchase everywhere on Tuesday, October 14th! You can also pre-order your copy on VeggieTales.com. They have some pretty cool package deals with stickers, Beauty and the Beet movie Soundtrack, and more! First Look At #VeggieTales "Beauty And The Beet" Movie! Coming to DVD, October 14th!

One of life’s biggest challenges is being kind to people, even (sometimes especially) those who don’t seem to deserve it.  The importance of unconditional love and acceptance is a great lesson for kids –- and, let’s face it, one that even adults need to be reminded of regularly.

It’s also the lesson at the heart of the upcoming VeggieTales musical Beauty and the Beet.  Mirabelle, the sweet potato who stars in Beauty and the Beet shows that it’s not always easy to offer love and compassion for others -– especially people who have made you angry.  But, as she puts it in one of the story’s memorable songs (which we’ll be telling you more about soon), “It’s what God wants me to do … the person God wants me to be.”

When you take the timeless story of “Beauty and the Beast,” toss it with the unique flavors of VeggieTales and blend in the sweet voice of country music superstar Kellie Pickler, the result is Beauty and the Beet!

This brand-new VeggieTales musical, which features 10 new songs, premieres Oct. 14 exclusively on DVD and digital download.

Press Release:

Beauty and the Beet Puts a Tune-Filled,
All-Veggie Spin on a Classic Fairy Tale Starring Country Superstar Kellie Pickler

Available Oct. 14 on DVD and Digital Download, the Newest
VeggieTales Production Features 10 Original Songs,
Also Offered on a Brand-New Companion CD

GLENDALE, Calif. (Sept. 11, 2014) – Take the timeless and enchanting story of “Beauty and the Beast,” toss with the unique flavors of VeggieTales and blend in the sweet voice of country music superstar Kellie Pickler – and the result is BEAUTY AND THE BEET, a brand-new VeggieTales musical that premieres Oct. 14 exclusively on DVD and digital download.

Pickler (American Idol, Dancing With the Stars) brings her unmistakable voice to the role of Mirabelle, a sweet-potato singer whose family band is on the brink of superstardom.  BEAUTY AND THE BEET blends the irresistible charm and appeal of VeggieTales with a heartfelt message about the importance of unconditional love.

A BEAUTY AND THE BEET companion CD, featuring 10 brand-new songs – including an all-veggie rendition of the classic Christmas carol Deck the Halls – will also be available in stores and on iTunes to coincide with the release of the movie on Oct. 14.

“All my nieces and nephews grew up with VeggieTales, and when they heard I was going to be in a VeggieTales movie, I immediately became the coolest aunt in the world!” said Pickler, who joins the VeggieTales cast on eight of the 10 songs on the BEAUTY AND THE BEET soundtrack. "Mirabelle may be a vegetable, but she’s beautiful through and through, especially her ability to show grace and compassion for everyone she meets."

Mirabelle’s kindness extends to Finnegan J. Beet, the bitter and lonely owner of a rundown mountaintop resort where Mirabelle’s family breaks down en route to their biggest concert ever.  Matching the Beet’s heartless actions with her own genuinely sweet nature, Mirabelle proves that just as God loves us all whether we deserve it or not, unconditional love is its own reward.

In addition to Mirabelle and Mr. Beet, the zesty supporting cast includes Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, Jimmy the Gourd, the French Peas and a host of other favorite veggies.

Both the DVD and the CD also include Mac and Cheese, a giddy new “Silly Songs With Larry” segment in which Larry the Cucumber reveals the surprising and heretofore untold history of his family’s unexpected contributions to Italian cuisine.

BEAUTY AND THE BEET is just the start of the fun in store this fall for VeggieTales fans, because Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber and their friends will also star in a brand-new Netflix original series, VeggieTales In the House, which premieres Thanksgiving weekend exclusively on the streaming platform.

Kellie Pickler appears on the BEAUTY AND THE BEET soundtrack album courtesy of Black River Entertainment.  She grew up immersed in the country life of small town Albemarle, N.C. At age 19, she gained fame as a contestant on “American Idol,” followed by a move to Nashville where she has recorded four critically acclaimed albums (Small Town Girl, Kellie Pickler, 100 Proof, and her current album The Woman I Am), performed for fans around the world, and made countless television appearances, including a 2013 win on Dancing with the Stars

VeggieTales Press Event! #VeggieTalesDay

Last week on Monday night and Tuesday morning, and into the afternoon, I had the great honor of attending a VeggieTales press event for bloggers! I checked into a hotel for the night and took a shuttle with other bloggers to a nearby location for dinner and drinks. The food and dessert was catered. I felt so nervous, but yet, it was nice getting to meet others who do what I do. The dinner was more like a meet and greet event where we got to meet some of the DreamWorks staff, and also one of the PR people that I e-mail from time to time about reviewing the latest VeggieTales movies.

On Tuesday morning, we met up at a a local studio in downtown Nashville for breakfast and a Q and A with Mike Nawrocki, one of the creators of VeggieTales and the voice of Larry the Cucumber! I even got to have lunch with him and the others at my table got a chance to ask him even more questions! He is a really nice guy!

I am holding Larry on the right. He's the green one. The red tomato is Bob! I got to take them home and gave them to my children! They actually fought over Bob!

Then we separated into groups to learn how to draw some of the characters from VeggieTales, learn how voice overs in the VeggieTales movies are done, and we learned about VeggieTales plans with their characters are for the future.

VeggieTales has a new movie coming out on October 14th called "Beauty and the Beet!" We had a chance to hear from Kellie Pickler, the voice of the main character in Beauty and the Beet, Mirabell. Kellie will even be singing eight of the songs in the movie, and VeggieTales will also have a separate CD of the music from this movie available for purchase!

These photos are from the Q and A with Kellie Pickler. She's so sweet and so down to earth. She's currently working on her fifth album, and she's recorded many of the songs already, at this studio in Nashville!

Here's the group photo! I am on the left. Next to me is Jamie from Blonde Mom Blog, sitting down in front on the right, is Linsey from Lille Punkin, next to her in the purple is Ruby from Growing up Blackxican. They were all so nice and sweet. I don't remember the others that I met. But if it's you, please leave a comment and link to your site, and I will add it above!

This is me trying to do a voice over for one of the characters in the new Beauty and the Beet movie. I did ok. You can view the clip below of my voice. How did I do?

VeggieTales will be making 11 minute shorts for those on Netflix. They will be called "VeggieTales In the House." These cartoons will include some new characters, including the first ever animated piece of meat in a VeggieTales cartoon! These shorts should be coming out around Thanksgiving this year! How do you like the way that the characters will be drawn? I really like it. I like how much more soft they all look!

Above is some of the goodies that we had for dessert after lunch! The cupcakes and cookies were really sweet, but oh so good!
