Mathnasium "The Math Learning Center" #Giveaway! #Mathnasium #ChangingLivesThroughMath #BackToSchool

As Back to School season is upon us, we know some students are already anxious about their
upcoming math classes and assignments. Mathnasium is here to help and alleviate that stress!

The first step is to find a local Learning Center and schedule a math skills assessment to discuss
a customized learning plan - unique to each student and their needs.

I’ve partnered with Mathnasium, the Math Learning Center, to offer my followers the chance to win a FREE month of instruction for their child, which includes homework help as they get back into the school year routine. Available for kindergarten through 12th grade!

WHAT IS MATHNASIUM:
Mathnasium (also Mathnasium Learning Center) is an American education brand and supplemental math learning franchise consisting of over 1,000 learning centers in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia that provides instruction to students in pre-kindergarten through high school. The curriculum employs the Mathnasium MethodTM, a proprietary system that was developed  by a team of education experts with co-founder Lawrence Martinek.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

For decades the Mathnasium MethodTM has transformed the way kids learn math. We build a foundation for math mastery through deep understanding by starting with what they already know, addressing any learning gaps, expanding their mathematical thinking, and adding new concepts in sequence. This proprietary method works for kids of all ages and skill levels, whether they’re struggling in math, doing okay but could be doing better, or are already excelling but need more of a challenge. When kids see what they can achieve because of their proficiency in math, it can alter the course of their entire lives. We use a combination of mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written techniques to build math knowledge level by level, so they understand it, master it, and enjoy it.

Unlike private tutors, our curriculum and methodology have been proven through the success of hundreds of thousands of students. Tutors are reactive, Mathnasium is proactive; we build each child's needed mathematical skills methodically and comprehensively. Backed by the extensive training and resources of a global organization, our instructors deliver a superior method, typically at a lower cost.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?
We have over 1,000 centers nationwide. Get started now. It’s as easy as:

1. Find a location

2. Get a math skills assessment

3. Talk to your center director about the customized learning plan for your child.

Make Back to School Mornings Easier With Go Organically Fruit Snacks! #Giveaway (U.S.) Ends 9/6 #BackToSchool #Sweepstakes

I am always looking for ways to make my mornings with my children EASIER! Right now, I am getting them up at 5:45a.m. and they are each going to bed around 7:00p.m. (for my 5 year old), 7:30p.m. (for my 8 year old) and 8:00-8:30p.m. (for my 9 1/2 year old). I'm trying to get us all on the elementary school schedule, which I dislike. I like not having any schedule at all. But with children around, that's not an option.

Here are some tips that have helped me to make school mornings easier:

1) Pick out your children's clothing for the whole week on Sunday afternoon or evening! Let your children pick out their outfits if you'd like! Five shirts, five shorts or pants, five pairs of underwear and five pairs of socks! Either place the outfits side by side in a drawer and let your child choose one outfit from the drawer each day, or place them in a laundry basket in your bedroom or theirs in a stack, Monday through Friday.

2) Make sure all backpacks are packed and ready to go before the next school day. Make sure reusable water bottles are filled, snacks, pencils and homework are back in their backpacks. Or if your children are old enough, have them pack their own backpacks! They should be able to pack their homework, pencils, and books into their own backpacks by second grade! This will also help to teach your children to be responsible for their own things.

3) Pack lunches the night before. If your making a lunch with nothing cold inside the lunch bag, put their lunch box/bag inside their backpack or have them do it and have them help you make their lunches. This will save a lot of time in the morning!

I am now packing three school lunches every night, then making their sandwiches fresh each morning. I try to keep them as healthy as possibly with apple slices, pretzels, maybe two small cookies as a treat, wheat bread, peanut butter and jam, along with some yogurt or string cheese, and Go Organically Fruit Snacks! If my children don't eat everything at school, then they finish it off when they get home.

4) Have your child or children pick out which shoes they are going to wear the next day and have them sitting by or on their favorite chair in your dining room or shoe organizer/bench. This way, their shoes are already out and ready to go!

5) Make sure that your things are ready to go too! Your clothing, shoes, bag packed, water bottle filled, coffee pot timer set, coffee cup set on the counter near the coffee pot, pills ready to take in the morning, etc.

6) Have breakfast foods and things set out and ready to go or grab in the morning! Put eggs, etc. in the refrigerator together and the pans out to cook eggs or whatever. Make sure that everything is ready to grab, bowls on the counter along with the cereal box and spoons.

7) Above all, have a morning routine such ours below:
  • (5:20am) You wake up, maybe shower and get dressed
  • (5:40am) Turn on living room light and TV, cartoons or whatever
  • (5:45am) Wake the kids up
  • (5:47am) Pour your coffee, etc.
  • (5:55am-6:15am) Breakfast for everyone
  • (6:15-6:25am) Get Dressed, brush teeth, do hair
  • (6:25am) Put shoes on
  • (6:25am-6:40am) Mellow out for a few minutes before heading out the door! Watch Cartoons or the News!
  • (6:35am) Pour your second cup of coffee before you walk out the door!
  • (6:40am) Time to get in the car and head for school and maybe work too

*This time schedule does allow a few minutes here and there to use your phone or laptop to check email, Facebook, and/or my blog page too!

Every morning routine is different. Find what works for you! School here started August 1st. Practice your routine before school starts or on the weekend so that your children know what's going to happen and what to expect.

It also helps to have a routine after they come home from school too. I find that routines of when we eat, play, watch a movie, take baths, cooking dinner, eating dinner, etc. seems to keep my children and I more relaxed and not so crazy.

LEGO Nexo Knights Season 1 DVD Review & #Giveaway! (2 Winners) (U.S.) Ends 8/10 #Backtoschool #bts

Disclosure: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I am giving away in this Giveaway Post. The opinions I share are my own.

The season opens at our Nexo Knight’s graduation but something isn’t right! The King’s Jester, Jestro, is acting strange and it is soon discovered that he has stolen the evil and mysterious Book of Monsters. With some of the most powerful spells at Jestro’s fingertips, he wreaks havoc on the Kingdom of Knighton! It is now up to the brave—yet inexperienced—Nexo Knights to save the future of the Kingdom! The DVD includes all 10 hilarious episodes from the first season that premiered on Cartoon Network in January to an overwhelmingly positive reception.

The Nexo Knights have technology on their side in their fight against Jestro and the evil powers he has summoned. When the army of dangerous Lava Monsters attack, the Nexo Knights call upon Merlock the Magician, a holographic Wizard in order to defend the Kingdom of Knighton. With their incredible rolling castle and Merlock’s powerful digitized magic, the Nexo Knights are confident as they take on the destruction that Jestro has created in the Kingdom. Will the Nexo Knights be able to defeat Jestro and the Lava Monsters even with their sinister plot to destroy Knighton? Discover the fate of Knighton as the hilarious Nexo Knights band together to fight evil.

My Review:
My eight and a half year old son and I have been trying to watch Lego Nexo Knights when it's on television, but we hadn't been able to catch every episode. So we watched it together on the DVD. It was nice to watch them back to back. It's more like watching a movie, with no commercials! I like the Nexo Knights. They almost always defeat the bad guys. The stories of good and evil have been going on since the beginning of time.

Enter below using the Giveaway Tools form for a chance to Win your own copy of LEGO Nexo Knights Season 1 on DVD (2 Winners)! Open to residents who live in the main 48 continental United States only, 18 years of age or older.

Ally-saurus & the First Day of School - Children's Book #Review & #Giveaway & Twitter #Contest! (U.S.) Ends 8/16 #Allys1stDay #BackToSchool

Ally-saurus & the First Day of School is an adorable new picture book from Richard Torrey that celebrates the boundless imagination of children. When Ally roars off to her first day at school, she hopes she'll meet lots of other dinosaur-loving kids in class. Instead, she's the only one chomping her food with fierce dino teeth and drawing dinosaurs on her nameplate. Even worse, a group of princess-obsessed girls won’t let her sit with them at lunch. Will Ally ever make new friends?

With colorful illustrations that expertly capture the diverse personalities of Ally and her classmates, Ally-saurus & the First Day of School encourages young readers to embrace their differences while also preparing them for new experiences, such as a big move, a new summer camp, or, as in the book, a new school. Add in a charming heroine, a delightful surprise ending, and Walter—a boy in love with his bright, yellow lunchbox—and you have a fun and hilarious read-aloud story that will leave children eager for more of Ally and her imaginative new friends. Ally-saurus & the First Day of School is now available for purchase at your local book store and online at websites like amazon.

My Review:
Ally-saurus & the First Day of School is an adorable book! Ally goes to school thinking that everyone else likes dinosaurs like her. Then she learns that everyone is different and that her classmates all like different things. She comes to find out at lunch time, that some of the other kids like to Roar too, like dragons and lions! By the end of the day, Ally becomes friends and playmates with her new classmates.

I feel that this book can help little ones going into PreK and Kindergarten and even into 1st grade overcome the feelings that come with starting school for the first, second or third time. We all get nervous, even us parents! This is a Must Own book for everyone!

In honor of the new school year, author Richard Torrey is offering teachers, librarians, parents, and picture book lovers the opportunity to win one of three signed copies of his latest picture book, Ally-saurus & the First Day of School (Sterling Childrens Books, May 2015). To enter the contest, Rich is having contestants wish Ally-saurus luck on her first day by tweeting at her using Hashtag #Allys1stDay.

Rich will also be sending tweets to various U.S. and Canadian school districts from his own handle, @richtorrey, to wish them a happy first day on their first days of school. The contest will end after the very last first day of school on September 9th (lucky NYC and Seattle!). Ally-saurus & the First Day of School is the perfect book for any child starting a new school year, and Mr. Torrey would love to give as many people as possible the opportunity to win a copy for your personal, public, or classroom library.

Enter below using the Rafflecopter form to win your own copy of "Ally-saurus & the First Day of School!" Giveaway open to residents in the main 48 continental United States only.

Disclosure: I received a copy of Ally-saurus & the First Day of School in exchange for my review and giveaway post. No other compensation was exchanged or received.

I had the chance to review a backpack from ApparelnBags.com! I really like his backpack! I can put books in it for my children, or my laptop in the padded section of the backpack specifically made for laptops! I can also put a lot of drinks, snacks, diapers, clothing, etc. inside for my children when we are traveling far from home. Nice, strong Handle for carrying the backpack!

Space in the back of the backpack for your laptop, or tablet, or books, etc.!

Lots of padding on the back of the backpack and on the shoulder straps too!

Back to School with Wholly Guacamole Minis Review and Giveaway! (U.S.) Ends 8/18 (Rafflecopter)

My children and I LOVE Wholly Guacamole! My four year old daughter is always asking me to share my Wholly Guacamole dip with her, and I do, but she likes to double dip. I don't like to eat or share things too much when they are shared with someone else, even my own children. I especially don't like it when we are at a party or get together, and someone is double, triple, or quadruple dipping. I have a cousin on my mom's side of the family that does this!

Wholly Guacamole has come out with Wholly Guacamole 100 Calorie (per cup) Minis (in 4ct or 6ct. boxes) in Classic, Spicy, Avocado Ranch, and Chunky. The Wholly Guacamole Classic is spicy, just the way I like it! The Wholly Guacamole Chunky isn't spicy at all, as it's made of only 100% avocados! Which is awesome for my four year old daughter to eat with her chips! As she isn't fond of eating spicy foods yet. I am not too fond of the Avocado Ranch or Spicy versions, as the flavors are a little too strong tasting for my palate. But other people at my daughter's birthday party seemed to enjoy them!

These cute little Wholly Guacamole Minis are perfect for school lunches and for people who would like so pack a little special in their own lunch too! Children who love to dip their veggies and chips in guacamole can now dip them at school with Wholly Guacamole Minis! Not to mention, one of these minis, is the perfect portion to put on a piece of toast with butter! My favorite thing to do with avocados and guacamole!

I am also not a big salsa fan. But I tried the NEW Wholly Guacamole Roasted Tomato Salsa, and I finally found a Salsa that I like!!! The salsa has the sweet and smokey flavors of roasted tomatoes and it really tastes good too!

If you LOVE Wholly Guacamole products as much as I do, make sure to Print out a $1.00 off coupon to take with you on your next shopping trip! If you LIKE Wholly Guacamole on Facebook, you can also print out a $1.00 off coupon from their Facebook page!

Would you like to receive a cooler of the NEW Wholly Guacamole Minis, Wholly Guacamole Salsa, a Wholly Guacamole Bag Clip, and a Wholly Guacamole squeezable avocado to help you host your next party or get together, or for you and your family to keep and enjoy for yourselves? Of course You do! Enter below using the Rafflecopter form for a chance to win a Cooler full of Wholly Guacamole Goodies!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Disclosure: I received a cooler from Wholly Guacamole that included some Wholly Guacamole Minis samples, Wholly Guacamole Salsa, a Wholly Guacamole Bag Clip, and a Wholly Guacamole squeezable avocado in exchange for my review and giveaway post. No other compensation was received or exchanged. The above opinions are mine, and mine alone. This review and giveaway is in no way associated with Facebook, Twitter, Pintrests, or Google Plus. The photos above are also mine that I personally took, please do not steal them, or copy and paste any part of my post without my permission. All of my blog posts are copyrighted.

My Daughter is only Two years old, but she has her own style!

My little girl just turned two years old, and she loves clothes, shoes, and more! My daughter Chloe has loved having her hair put in pony tails since she was around a year old. She also loves Bows! Every morning she asks me to put bows in her hair. I think partly, because she doesn't like her hair in her face, and I am the same way. She owns probably around one hundred bows or so, most of them are in pairs so that I can put her hair in two pony tails. Before we had bows, I used those cute, little plastic barrets and the small bows that can be purchased in some stores.

Chloe picks out her clothes and the designs on her shirts. Yes, she is only two years old. But she seems to favor pink, blue, purple, butterflies, flowers, kitties, especially hello kitty, winnie the pooh, and more! She isn't a big fan of black. She owns a pair of black shorts, and they are not her favorite.

She also loves Shoes! What little girl doesn't! She owns one pair of sandals and three pairs of tennis shoes, and a pair of shoo shoes (leather moccasins). If I let her, she would own more shoes, but I try to limit our spending.

Her first dress was purchased from JCPenney for her first Christmas. Most of our family lives in California, and we live in Tennessee, so we stayed home for Christmas the past two years. But it was nice to have something cute to put on her though. The dress was red velvet and the white, long sleeved onesie underneath. The dress had a cute kitty cat on the front of it, and it said "Baby's First Christmas." She looked so cute! It also came with those white pants with red and green polkadots, I forgot about that until I was looking for the photo to share with you.

We also purchased many Carter's outfits for her from JCPenney also! They carry a wide variety of Carter's for newborns, and up to 24 months. As you can see, we almost always dress her up in something cute! But she has almost always chosen her outfit for the day.

Chloe even likes to wear legwarmers! Here is a recent photo of her wearing one of the many pairs that she owns. (These weren't purchased at JCPenney.)

As you can see, she has her own sense of style, she has since she was born! I can't wait to go school shopping with her! Does your son or daughter have a sense of style?
